Chinese Authorities Detains Young Tibetan Writer and Former Policeman (In Tibetan)

Chinese authorities in Driru County of Nagchu prefecture in the Tibetan Autonomous Region have arrested Tsultrim Gyaltsen, a 27 year old Tibetan writer and his friend Yugyal, 26, a former policeman on accusations that the two were involved in disrupting social stability and initiating separatist activities on October 11, 2013.

A VOA Tibetan service source from India has said that the Chinese PSB personals from Driru County arrived at the home of Tsutrim Gyaltsen around Friday midnight and arrested him on the grounds of breaching national security by spreading rumors and instigating the recent unrest in Driru County. Yougyal was detained the very next day based on similar accusations.

Further information on the whereabouts or the current situation of Tsultrim Gyaltsen and Yougyal are unavailable.
