The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, one of the oldest institutions established in Dharamsala, India celebrated its 54th year of service in preserving Tibetan culture on August 21 2013.
The function included dignitaries of the Tibetan administration in exile and local Indian authorities, where the two houses of TIPA, Ngonba and Gyalu, held a cultural competition. The competition comprised of duet songs, dance performances, and plays.
Tsering Yangkyi, director of TIPA, said that she considers this cultural competition as one of the most important program of the institution since the competition requires artist's dilligence, commitment, and research to produce a creative and successful performance utcome.
