Hundreds of Tibetan monks, nuns and officials of the Tibetan government-in-exile gathered at Tsuklagkhang Wednesday morning for a prayer service in solidarity with the Tibetans who died of self immolation and police firing over the last two days in Tibetan area of Sichuan province in western China.
The prayer service was jointly organized by the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile. Head of the Tibetan Adminstration Lobsang Sangay said he stands in solidarity with all Tibetans inside Tibet who are suffering under Chinese repression. Sangay urged Tibetans and supporters worldwide to carry out peaceful activities on February 8, to mark a Global Solidarity Day.
Due to the deteriorating situation in Tibet, Dharamsala-based NGO Tibetan Youth Congres and Gu-Chu-Sum held candlelight vigil to protest killings in Tibet.
