The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama arrived in Sarnath Monday for a 5-day teaching from January 12-16.
Thousands of people carrying ceremonial scarves including the director of the Central University of Tibetan Studies, Venerable Ngawang Samten, organizers of the teaching and Kalon Dongchung Ngodup accorded warm welcome to the Dalai Lama.
During his stay, the Buddhist leader will take part in the valedictory function of the four-day 'Tenggyur Translation Conference: In the tradition of the 17 Pandits of Nalanda', organised by the CUTS and American Institute of Buddhist Studies at Columbia University on Tuesday.
The Dalai Lama will teach Shantideva’s A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life & Kamalashila’s The Middling States of Meditation from January 12.
